Description of Poodle Hybrid
F1 = 1st generation puppy - 50% purebred-A and 50% purebred-B - for example, a Golden Retriever or Labrador Retriever\ to Poodle cross, this is first generation, resulting in healthier offspring.
In this particular Labradoodle cross, hair type can vary from curly to wavy.
Shedding is low to exreme low.These are allergy friendly dogs.
Most people who enjoy the personality of the
Labrador and Golden Retrievers prefer F1 crosses.
F1b = Backcross puppy - 25% purebred-A and 75% purebred-B.
For example, an F1 Labradoodle and Poodle cross; this is Labradoodle bred back to Poodle. The coat type will be more consisitently curley, like a Poodle.
F1b is very likely to be non shedding and extremely allergy friendly.
F2 = Second generation puppy - F1 hybrid crossed with an F1 hybrid - for example, an F1 Goldendoodle crossed with an F1 Goldendoodle. This combination you get the same percentage of purebred-A as purebred-B as you would an F1 hybrid. In the case of the Goldendoodle, they are more likely to shed.
F2b/Multi-generation = second generation backcross puppy = F1 bred to a F1b (hybrid backcross). Coat types wavy to curly. Also MOST LIKELY to be Non-Shedding and allergy friendly. This is also the first generation of the multi-generation Labradoodles.
Australian Labradoodles are a mix of: Labrador Retriever, Poodle, Irish Water Spaniel, Cocker Spaniel, Wheaton Terrier, and some others kept secret by the breeding project in Australia (originally tegan park).
